If you live in the UK you could qualify for the Renewable Heat Incentive where you will receive payments if you install or have installed, eligible renewable heating technology.
We’ve simplified everything you need to know about this government scheme below.
What is the Renewable Heat Incentive?

The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is a financial incentive available from the government to promote the installation of renewable heating. Therefore, helping the UK reduce its carbon emissions, meet agreed EU targets and improving future energy security.
The scheme aims to encourage the uptake of renewable technologies in UK householders, business and communities.
There are two schemes available under the RHI; Domestic and Non-Domestic. As a result, each have separate tariffs and conditions.
Renewable Heat Incentive: Domestic and Non-Domestic
Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive
The Domestic RHI applies to renewable systems that heat a single property and are capable of receiving a domestic Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). Those that qualify for the domestic RHI will qualify for quarterly payments over seven years in relation to the amount of renewable energy they use.

Non-Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive
The Non-Domestic RHI generally applies to commercial premises, such as businesses, schools or hospitals. However, it can also apply to district heating situations. District heating status applies when one plant room provides heat to multiple buildings. For example, a country estate with tenanted properties.

How Can You Benefit?
The value of Domestic and Non-Domestic tariffs will vary dependent on the renewable system you install. Therefore, each tariff is evaluated on a quarterly basis and is subject to degression. To ensure you don’t miss it is important to act quickly.
These latest figures are valid from 2021/22 and can be found on the Ofgem website.
